i just found out that my 6-month wedding workout plan increases to 40 minutes of cardio 3 times a week starting next week. holy cow. i've never worked out that much in my life! but i'm excited to really get my butt in shape, and i'm hoping august will be a great month for weight loss. goal for september 1 = 120 lbs.
i just started my eighth week of doing weight watchers and working out three times a week. i've been doing really good at sticking to my points and working out, and i'm pretty proud of myself. my starting weight 8 weeks ago was 131. this morning i weighed myself and i am 125.7. my goal is 115, even though i have gotten a lot of flack about going so low.
i am eating 21 points a day right now, less than i was allowed to eat when i started. i'm guessing pretty soon it will go down to 20. then i will be sad. lol. but going to the gym is really great because i usually do the elliptical for 30 mins and then get to eat 3 more points.
i've been cooking dinner all the time recently, and i have a lot of low cal/fat recipes if anyone is interested. i've been eating a lot more fruit than i usually eat too, along with a lot of cereal (cheerios and special k), and weight watchers ice cream cups--they're only 2 points! i've been saving my flex points for the weekend (mmm booze and bar food) and that has been working really well. also, i just found out that new MGD light is only 1 point per beer!!! i'm not a miller fan, but it's worth a try.
10 more lbs to goal!
i've been on weight watchers for a month now. i'm doing the flex plan, which means i'm counting points. for those of you who are very unfamiliar with weight watchers, if such people exist, i will explain a little bit about the points process. every food is assigned a points value based on its calories, fat, and dietary fiber. i am allowed to eat 21 points per day (this is determined by your current weight, so other people get to eat more). for example, today i ate:
2- Special K Bar
2- 1 Serving Baked Doritos
7- Turkey Sandwich w/ Cheese
2- Yoplait Light Banana Cream Pie Yogurt
8- 2 pieces Summer Squash Pizza (what I made for dinner)
2- Mint Chocolate Chip Weight Watchers Ice Cream
you may notice that my points today added to 23, which was allowable because i worked out for 20 minutes on the elliptical and earned 2 extra points, which are called activity points. i also am allowed 35 flex points per week, which i usually save for weekends (alcohol) or going out to dinner. and for those of you who say you could never give up fast food, you can still eat it on weight watchers! a mcdonald's hamburger and fries is 10 points (5 each).
i am using the online weight watchers program instead of going to meetings, because it is cheaper and more convenient. also, i am following the http://www.theknot.com/ch_article.html?Object=A00119164333&MsdVisit=1 bride-to-be workout on theknot.com.
after one month i am 3 pounds lighter, which may not seem a lot but it is definitely noticeable- my stomach is flatter, my legs are more toned, and my love handles are pretty much gone. i started at 131, and right now i'm at 128. my long-term goal is 115. i'm going to reward myself at 125 with new workout clothes, 120 with new gym shoes, and 115 with a spa day.
i know i have blogged about different diets before, but weight watchers really is the best ever. their website makes it super easy to count points and keep track of your progress, and they have great recipes, message boards, and fitness tips. i should be on a commercial! well, maybe when i reach my 115...
