How to Grill a Turkey from Butterball.com
Buy a box and cook according to package directions. :)
I'm buying canned turkey gravy in case I don't have enough drippings from the grill to make my own gravy. However, if I do have enough drippings I will use this recipe from Cooks.com:
Sweet Potato Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Pierogies & Sour Cream
We've made the real ones before but this year I'm going to get them from Trader Joe's. Probably filled with cheese because Jon is scared of mushrooms.
Crescent Rolls & Butter
Pillsbury crescent rolls are the best! And make sure you get real butter.
Jon's Mom's Recipe
1/2 to 3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 to 2 cups chopped onion
1 1/2 to 2 cups chopped celery, stalks and leaves
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon in total of: dried sage, thyme and/or marjoram
Poultry seasoning, to taste
1 loaf of Gonella Bread, cubed (or any large, unsliced loaf of crusty
1 c. milk
Melt butter in large heavy skillet. Add onion and celery and cook until
yellow and limp, stirring occasionally. This will cook down. When done turn
off the heat and stir the seasonings into the celery/onion mixture.
While celery and onion is cooking cut the loaf of bread into about 1" or
larger cubes. Put about 1/4 of the bread cubes into a bowl, moisten them
with milk, then gently squeeze the milk out of the cubes and put squeezed
cubes into another large bowl. Repeat with another 1/4 of the dry bread
cubes until all the bread cubes have been moistened with milk and the milk
When all the bread cubes have been moistened and squeezed add them to the
cooked celery/onion/seasoning mixture. Try to separate the bread cubes a bit
as you add them. Use a fork to combine and separate the clumps of moistened
bread cubes and fluff them up a bit. Cover and refrigerate until ready to
cook the stuffing.
Ocean Spray cranberries are good. Prepare according to package directions.
