30 miles outside chicago

I don't really have anything to write about, and the title of this entry is random Lucky Boys lyrics because I saw them at Canopy Club this weekend. I just haven't written anything in a while, so I felt like I should.

Nothing major to report right now. Same job, same everything. I've started the search for my next job, but nothing too serious yet. I'll have been here a year in June and I'm hoping to find something new not too long after that.

Let's see ... I just got done watching the first two seasons of House recently and, man, I can understand why everyone loves that show so much. It's pretty intense. I've also been loving Heroes lately. I really like who the writers keep you guessing by not clearly drawing the line between good and evil. Also, NBC better bring back Studio 60.

I gave up fries for Lent. I haven't given up anything in a while and, while I don't eat them everyday, I probably eat fries a lot more than I should.

Those who care have probably noticed that I haven't written much lately. I posted some writing goals for the year back in early January and I haven't met any of them. Work is now expecting 10 stories per week for the paper, so it will probably be hard to keep up with the goal of writing something for myself for each thing I write for the paper.

I had to start paying back my student loans this month. That sucked. Hopefully if I find a new job, it will come along with a pay increase. That would make the loan payments a smaller percentage of my income.

I have no major plans for the coming month. People are going on Spring Break trips and stuff, but I only have 5 vacation days for the whole year, so I need to save those in case I don't find a new job by the holidays.

Spring training is under way. That makes me happy. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Cubs hit the field this season. It will be interesting to see what a spending spree and a new manager will do for the team.

Some cool music news: Ralph tells me the members of 5 Penny Theatre have agreed to a reunion, which will be cool. Also, former members of Backdrop and Roy G. Biv have formed a band called The Last Waltz, so check them out on MySpace. Also, the members of the Dog & Everything started a new band called Last Fast Action. Read more about them here.

If you haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth, go see it.

Ok, I think that's enough rambling. Later.

SONG OF THE MOMENT:
