it's been a long time since i rock and rolled

I haven't written anything in quite a while. I want to get better about that. Things have been pretty busy lately with me starting my new jobs, Julia moving up here, etc.

This is my second week in my new job covering DuPage County. I think this is going to be a really great opportunity for my career. I'm really excited already about the things I'm going to get to do. Hopefully this will lead to even bigger and better things in the future.

I ran my first 5K on Saturday. I was pretty bad and slow, but it was still a lot of fun. It's something I'd like to do more of in the future. I'm thinking about running the Dan Gibbon's Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving.

The Cubs are making me really nervous right now. There are 12 games left in the season — six at home and six on the road — and the Cubs have a one-game lead on the Brewers. I think the Cubs are a better team, but it seems like the perfect time for a classic Cubs collapse. They could easily make the playoffs if they win eight or nine games, but there's a good chance it will come down to a one-game playoff after the end of the regular season. That makes me really nervous.

I'm excited for the start of the TV season and the return of "Heroes," "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Office," among other shows. I don't know if there are any new shows this season that I'm excited about, but we'll see.

That's about it. Sorry I don't have much else to write about right now. I'm feeling very unfocused today.

SONG OF THE MOMENT:
