as the first entry to engage in the new interactivity i feel special. so here is a poem. i think it sounds better if you read it fast. if you can tell me what i was listening/reading in the 48 hours before writing it then you get a cookie. -kate
existence
Twice red
Four times green
love hate
Relationships
Under
Siege
Audrey Hepburn on a postage stamp
That’s what I thought you’d say
Interference
Living loud
Without regret
Living within the nonexistent
Opening doors that lead to
Now
Here
I want your sympathy, empathy, company
Twice meant, never sent
Leaving off at the verb
Order
“big conflagration”
becoming
untidy
I am living proof that without me I could not live
In one sort of world
Less productive
Than desirable
Desiring production
Underneath an umbrella
Inside the confines
Now available
In three sizes
Lucy in a box
Very nice kate. Lets all welcome our good friend kate to the now communal blog. "Hiya, Kate!" chimes the computer bank to a three-note melody extrapolated from the synthesis of Handel's "Messiah" and the William Shatner's version of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."

YEEEEEEEEEESSS! Some things I'm less fond of:
existence the title. While i see you intend it to be nothing but what it is, kindof like life, I'm not sure its getting that across the best...
Perhaps i should ask if this is a work in progress before talking much more about it. But yeah I dig. I really wish i "got" more of it though. Poetry is always hit or miss with me. Some of the more random stuff like "twice red / four times green." NO IDEA what your talking about. And i guess its really MY problem that I feel like i need to understand stuff like that. I'm ok with nonsense, but if i have a hard time telling if it actually IS nonsense its hard to know. Anyway. If you have any comments on it i would love to hear them. I got no guesses as to the origin, so no cookie for me.

Posted by: pedalboy at October 18, 2004 9:41 PMhmm reminds me of something along the lines of Tori Amos. Very cool in that sense. Alas, poetry is quite often hit or miss for me also, although I did enjoy that Audrey Hepburn reference.
