i know this is like three months too late... but a better word for that is

kitsch.

which means "junky stuff"

Um. NO!!!!

Everyone knows what kitsch means. Its more specific than Tchotsch. Tchotsch can apply in many more situations where kitsch is just dumb. Like for instance, "What the Kitsch?" doesn't really work.
